I’m sure that everyone reading this blog will be familiar with the Hublot brand, a watchmaking company which has been in existence for more years than anyone can remember, and one which produces a select few watches each year which far exceed the expectations of collectors right across the world.  Whilst we can all appreciate the look and design of these watches often astounds people is the price which is associated with each watch Hublot manufacture and this post will look into just why Hublot watches are so expensive to purchase.

1: Research and design:

Creating a Hublot (or indeed any luxury watch) is not a simple process by any means.  Many years of research, design and development go into the creation of any Hublot model and this costs a great deal of money.  As a result this expense must be off-set through inflating the price of the watch to recoup some of the cost.

2: The watch movement:

Whilst to the untrained eye a watch movement may appear to be a rather simplistic concept it is actually far from it.  Not only the design and configuration of Hublot mechanism is expensive but also the materials which are essential to its functioning as designed are often extremely costly.

3: Low production quantities:

As you will probably be aware, the more watches which are produced the lower the cost of production.  But with luxury watches, especially with Hublots, the number of any specific given model produced are extremely small, sometimes just in the hundreds.  Therefore the cost of the watch needs to be inflated to ensure that the company (Hublot in this case) actually make a profit from their time pieces.

Of course there are many more reasons as to why Hublot watches are vastly expensive and out of reach of the majority of consumers around the world, but the above article should give you a general idea of the reasons why the cost is inflated.  If you wish to own a Hublot designed watch but cannot afford then large prices then you can of course research replicas which will hopefully make luxury designed watches more accessible financially.
